How to Make Custom Jumplists

Microsoft introduced Jumplists in Windows7. They appear when you right-click on an icon in the Taskbar. They are very good at helping to improve your work flow, but if you want combine multiple programs in one icon…well it can’t be done. Until now. With Jumplist-Jumper you add up to 60 programs or files within self-defined groups inside a jumplist.

After you download the application, you will see the following screens:

This is the plain jane screen where you can add the files or folders that you want in your Jumplist.

Jumplist On Taskbar

You can select one default-entry which will then be opened if you click on Jumplist-Launchers Taskbar-icon. An entry will then be added to your Jumplists, it will open the configuration-window of the Jumplist-Launcher.

Some other features:

  • No installation or modification to the registry
  • You can create jumplists containing up to 60 programs or files which can then be launched.
  • Entries can be assigned to be opened by left-clicking the taskbar-icon of the Jumplist-Launcher. Every entry may contain command-line arguments.
  • After creating the jumplist, you do not need to run a program in the background. You can also have multiple Jumplist-Launcher-Icons on your taskbar. By copying the folder files they can then be dragged into the Jumplist-Launcher from the Windows-Explorer Icon and the name of the entry can be renamed.
  • Jumplist-items can also be added by dragging single files on Jumplist-Launchers taskbar-icon while holding down the shift-key.

Here is a video of the process :

You can access the Jumplist launcher from Hedgehog.
